new year resolution 2010??

The Bupa Great Winter Run is a 5k running event and the perfect way to start the year for every runner as it takes place on Saturday 9th January in Holyrood Park , Edinburgh .

The senior event is open to all ages and abilities of 14 years and over and we also hold a Bupa Junior Great Winter Run on the same day over a distance of approximately 2.5km to encourage youngsters of ages 7-13 years to get fit too.

Bupa Great Edinburgh International X Country
After the Great Winter Run has finished there should be a cracking atmosphere at the Bupa Great Edinburgh International Cross Country, an annual event held on the same day as the Winter Run, again in Holyrood Park , that attracts the world's best middle distance runners – and it's free to watch the action.

The event will be televised live on BBC One 1pm - 2.30pm.

jedburgh 10k

a small posse of westwoods joggers popped down to jedburgh for a challenging 10k,all did very well.
Gillian ,Brendan,Norrie & Joyce took part.
[along with a number of others]
gillian said:The Jedburgh 10km was a different experience from Saturday's 5km park run. A race on a much larger scale. Having done the halfie there quite often I decided to give the 10k a go for a change. Nobody had told me thay kept all the hilly bits from the halfie in the 10k course and removed the long flat straights. Between that and the wind I found it one tough race. Good value for a £10. And although I was puffing to much to appreciate it I'm told it was a very scenic course. Watch time was 57.50 which will do me fine on a day and course like that

well done to all at the jogscotland awards 2009

especially to Irene McDonald-but

good work to Brendan coming 2nd.
