good luck to all those involved in the EMF weekend, & for those not involved, think about this

Hello from Cancer Research UK,

As I’m sure you’re aware, the Edinburgh Marathon Festival is nearly upon us, and our runners need some support!

This is a message for all of you guys not competing at the Edinburgh Marathon Festival, whether you are a friend or family member of someone who is, or an injured runner, or just a running enthusiast… we want you to cheer with us!

Many of you will already be attending the event to show your support for the city and its runners. While you’re there why not join our elite cheering squad. You’ll still be able to support anyone you like, the only difference is that you’ll be in a prime location and will be armed with some of the most formidable cheering equipment imaginable. Most importantly, you’d be helping us to eliminate a horrible disease by allowing our runners to achieve their goals and bring in as much money as possible to go towards life-saving research. We’ll have great cheering points along the route, and complimentary refreshments and t-shirts for all who join us.

Since the 1970s cancer survival rates have doubled. Our aim within the next 20 years is to reach a 3 in 4 survival rate. In order to make these enormous strides against cancer we rely on incredible people like you who give up their time to allow cancer sufferers to spend more time with their family and friends.

If you are interested in joining the team, you can contact us at sportsvolunteer@cancer.org.uk to receive a brief with all of the information you’ll need as a volunteer on the day.
