Four events. Two Days. One Big Weekend.

Four events. Two Days. One Big Weekend.

Scotland is set to host a one of a kind running event this summer in four of its big cities.

Entries are now open for jogscotland One Big Weekend a series of  5k timed runs which will be held over the weekend of Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th August 2013 in Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Perth. jogscotlandOne Big Weekend is the national coming together of the jogscotland community - a chance for existing members from across the country to meet up, and for non-members to give it a try.

Over the weekend of August 3rd and 4th 2013, thousands of jogscotland runners, friends and family are expected to gather for the summer’s “must-do” running event in picturesque settings in Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Perth. Anyone can take part in the weekend, not just jogscotland members. However by becoming a jogscotlandmember during the entry process, customers will enjoy a discounted entry as well as gaining all the benefits ofjogscotland’s bronze membership for free.

Neil Kilgour, One Big Weekend Race Director, said: “We’re delighted to be working alongside jogscotland to host this new and exciting event in Scotland. One Big Weekend is open to all levels of running ability, offering fitness and fun over one weekend of running.”

“These are so much more than your usual 5k runs - for a start they’re chip timed giving jogscotland members and other runners the chance to work towards a goal and set a personal best. We hope these events will be loved by runners who want to make it an exciting addition to the Scottish running calendar.” Neil added

“We can’t wait to welcome everyone to One Big Weekend. We’ll have two days of really enjoyable, friendly events where people from all over the country can come together and celebrate their love of walking, jogging and running.

“We’re looking forward to seeing lots of jogscotland members, their family and friends – and to welcoming plenty of people who are coming along to find out about jogscotland for the first time. Just like our jog groups, the events will be friendly and supportive, and perfect for people of all abilities.” commented Billy Mitchell, Head of jogscotland

One Big Weekend is an all-inclusive event, where everyone can celebrate their accomplishment, regardless of what that may be – whether it’s achieving a PB, raising money for your favourite charity, or just crossing the line with friends. Prizes will be awarded to celebrate first over the line and other great individual achievements among participants. Every runner will also receive a quality medal and goody bag.
