jogscotland awayday at portobello parkrun

it was a cold & wintry Saturday morning, but Katharine & Miranda joined me at
 Portobello parkrun.
we ran out of parkrun before we had quite finished the full time, but finished at the end just the same.
no interventions by geese & a fair bit of sunshine in a very pretty park.
we repaired to portobello for a coffee afterwards.
results were with me by the time I had battled along the prom against the headwind.

looks chilly- doesn't it?

http://www.runinthedark.org/edinburgh/

this was great fun last year & i expect it will be so again this year,

The Event:

Wednesday November 11th 2015, 8pm

Registration will close on Tuesday 10th of November at 6pm sharp!
We are delighted to announce the return of the Edinburgh Life Style Sports Run in the Dark in 2015. This year’s pop-up run will again be championed by Lucja Leonard and Iona MacArthur. There are 150 places available for this year's event so be sure to register early to avoid disappointment.
The start and finish line will be located at the Crowne Plaza Edinburgh – Royal Terrace, 18 Royal Terrace, EH7 5AQ.
Feel free to leave bags or warm clothing for afters with the reception team. The 5km run will take us down to Holyrood Park and through Hunters Bog underneath Arthur’s Seat to enjoy pure darkness, back up past the Palace of Holyroodhouse and Scottish Parliament and back to the Crowne Plaza, while the stoic 10km runners will loop around once more.
After the race has finished all runners are encouraged to reunite at the hotels’ Terrace Bar for the ‘obligatory’ night cap.
Your FAQs answered:
The cost of entering a pop-up event is £20, with all monies raised supporting the Mark Pollock Trust mission to find and connect people worldwide to fast-track a cure for paralysis.
You will receive  a run entry, Run in the Dark buff and flashing armband.
Refreshments will be distributed to all participants at the finish line.
Chip-timing is not in operation for our pop-up events.
It is important that you arrive 30 minutes in advance of the start time (8pm) so that you can receive your buff and flashing armband.
A group photo will be taken with all participants in advance of the run.
For your own safety please bring a head torch or hand held torch with you as certain parts of the route are not lit.
For any queries relating to this event please feel free to contact Edinburgh champion Lucja Leonard (runningdutchie@hotmail.com) or on twitter @runningdutchie or Iona MacArthur (runinthedarkedin@gmail.com) or on twitter @iona_macarthur.
