Generally when most people think about parkour, they imagine young men running from stunt to spectacular stunt. While those stunts can be quite fun, parkour is so much more than that. It is, at its core, a philosophy of self-improvement. And this is the ethos of the Access class. This class is based on the conditioning and mobility work developed by parkour coaches to strengthen the body and act as a safe introduction to basic movements. These movements start at the very beginning, focusing on body awareness and healthy movement patterns.

The Adult Parkour classes
will run Monday and Thursday 7-9pm
Cost: £8 (Student discounts, just ask)
Age: 16+
Where: Central Edinburgh. An Email is sent out with the exact location the day before the class

The outdoor classes are normally pitched at beginners, making them easily accessible. But the movements and techniques are scalable for more advanced practitioners. The core aim of our parkour class is to build functional fitness through fundamental training, as well as providing a challenging and stimulating class environment that builds strength as well as confidence.

Outdoor classes take place throughout the year in all types of weather; the training is simply altered to be appropriate and safe for whatever training conditions we come across.

The class that caught my mother's attention is
the Family Class:
Where: Bristo Square
When: 10am-11am Saturday
Cost: £6 for one child, £4 for each subsequent child. Also includes access to the free parent’s class that runs in parallel.
Age: 8-12 (Fudging of ages is possible)
Parent’s/Guardian’s MUST stay in attendance during the class. They are always invited to join in the free parent’s class or to just sit and watch if they prefer.
